Before joining CSRI, he joined FICCI in 1995 as an Assistant Secretary, and thereafter he has headed various sectors like Telecommunications, IT, Electronics, Postal & Courier Reforms, Branding and logistics, Labour & Employment, Skills Development and so on.
Experience
As a Sector Head, he has played an important role representing FICCI in Policy and Regulatory matters in various sectors. He has been a regular contributor to various major magazines and dailies. His study / Research Papers on IT, Telecom, Labour & Employment, Skills Development, Physical Education and Sports have been presented in various national and international Conferences and forums. He has been member of various high-level group of Government of India related to TRAI, IT, Telecom, Skills Development, Labour Policies. Setting up and implementation of International Quality Standards and promotion Youth Affairs & Sports are some of the other initiatives of Rajpal. He was part of 9th, 10th and 11th Five-year plan on Various Ministries of Government of India apart from Working Group on WTO Issues. His forte has been in policy intervention for economic Development. In Sports, some of the key initiatives of Mr. Singh have been Setting up Sports Sector Skills Council and raising issues related to Industry Status to Sports Infrastructure, National Sports Development Code, Legacy of CWG, Legalizing Sports Betting.
Rajpal Singh, also keeps keen interest in international affairs and has written many knowledge Papers on various subjects including four books on defense. In 2016, book written by him on 2nd World War got the 2nd prize from Ministry of Defense. Presently, he is writing series of books on Param Vir Chakras. He has been member and associated with various academic organisations like India International Centre (IIC); International Centre, Goa; Indian Institute of Public Administration(IIPM), Centre for Land and Warfare Studies(CLAWS), United Services Institute.
Qualifications
Rajpal Singh did his graduation from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) & post-graduation from Delhi School of Economics. Thereafter, he finished his LLB & MBA (BIM-TECH). He has distinction of doing Total Quality Management (TQM) Programme from Japan and has been a part of International Visitor’s Programme for Young Leaders sponsored by Department of States, Government of USA. Rajpal is currently Director General of Confederation of Sports and Recreation Industry (CSRI) with the support of some of the sports industry members and experts. He works in the policy framework to create sports ecosystem.
